Ospitalità Green in un tipico casale di montagna, una scelta di vita...
"In 2005 when we saw the Villa Capraja for the first time, hidden by lush greenery, we felt the same thrill. We looked each other in the eyes and we decided to make the choice for life, leaving the town with its amenities and living together as an 'experience of true life’ in intimate contact with nature where the silence, the green, the water and the wild forest animals make for everyone a relaxing and rejuvenating time.
The house, a typical mountain farm with barn for goats, has been completely renovated by us in an environmentally sustainable building while respecting the energy saving criteria, safeguarding the typicality and obtaining our house. The three rooms offer our guests an experience of true vacation and share flavours, rhythms and the simple life of "once".
We already liked the way the house was. That's why we designed a conservative recovery, enhancing the work of our predecessors; for its construction, we only used local materials, the wood, the stones according to ancient techniques, a lot of wisdom and respect for nature and its rhythms. During the intervention of eco-sustainable restoration of the wood it has been completely recovered and reused after treatment with vegetable oils and resins as well as for the stones. For the interior, we used lime plaster; the paintings were made in natural colours no matter derived from the petroleum refining industry. Three rooms are available for guests, furnished in solid wood with natural colours. We took care of the forest, cleaning it from brambles and weeds, recovering an area for our organic garden and a small orchard planted with ancient apple and pear. Bringing the many walnut trees that surround the house in a good fruit production, we do offer them to our guests for breakfast in the various preparations.
Its construction dates back to the end of the 18th century as a typical "Ca'da mont" (mountain hut) with stables for goats and cows, dairy small cheeses, shelter for silkworms, rooms for the shepherds on the first floor and barn on the second floor. We kept the name Villa Capraja, given by two young shepherds who in the 30s spent their summers with goats.
Now we live together with Yoghi, a jovial shepherd dog who first will meet you to welcome you, and Milly, a lovely and nice cat who together with Yoghi lives in perfect harmony and complicity."
